Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Linkaroo app for Android and this website. The short version: Linkaroo has no accounts and no ads, the links you save stay on your device, and the app collects usage and crash data only to improve Linkaroo.

Who is responsible

The Linkaroo app

• No account. You don't sign in, and we don't ask for your name, email address or phone number.
• Your links stay on your device. The links, folders, pins and read status you create are stored locally on your phone. They are not sent to us, and we cannot see them.
• No ads. The app contains no advertising, and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Analytics and crash reports

To understand how Linkaroo is used and to find and fix problems, the app uses AppMetrica, an analytics and crash reporting service. It collects usage information (such as which features are used) and crash reports (such as what went wrong, the app version, and your device model and Android version), linked to an identifier for your installation of the app. This information is sent to AppMetrica, which processes it on our behalf, and is used only to improve Linkaroo. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and making it better (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The links you save are not part of this. There is one exception, and it is optional: Linkaroo has a setting for sending anonymous data to help improve link previews. If you turn it on and the preview for a link repeatedly fails to load, the app sends the domain of that link (for example example.com), never the full address. You can turn the setting off at any time. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

When the app connects to the internet

When you save a link, Linkaroo loads that page to fill in its title, image and other details. When you open a saved link, the page loads as it would in a browser. In both cases your device connects directly to the website behind the link, and that website receives the technical information any website receives from a visitor, such as your IP address. What it does with that information is covered by its own privacy policy, not this one.

Google Play

The app is distributed through Google Play. Google processes information about downloads and updates under its own privacy policy. We do not receive information that identifies you from Google.

This website

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes your IP address and basic request details in order to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

When you contact us

If you email us, we use your email address and the contents of your message to reply (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the conversation only as long as we need it to handle your request.

Removing your data

Because your links are stored only on your device, you are in control of them. You can delete individual links in the app, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app, which removes everything it stored. Uninstalling also stops any further analytics and crash data from being collected.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, write tolinkarooFeedback@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

Children

Linkaroo is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

If Linkaroo changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
